The Bad Ass Coffee Company of Hawaii History
The Bad Ass Coffee Company of Hawaii™ first opened its doors in July of 1989, when we established our first company-owned store in the beautifully lush valleys of Kona, Hawaii. This flagship location was a free-standing store, right in the heart of Kona’s rich coffee-belt country. We now have nine franchise stores operating on three of the Hawaiian Islands, over twenty five stores in the U.S, 2 in Canada, one in Japan, and plans to open in Korea in next year, with more franchise locations opening every month.
The Bad Ass Coffee Company of Hawaii™ has become one of the largest sellers of Kona coffee in the world. In 1995, Michael Bilanzich of Salt Lake City, Utah, purchased the Royal Aloha Coffee, Tea & Spice Company and the Bad Ass Coffee Company of Hawaii™. We opened our first Bad Ass Coffee Company of Hawaii™ franchise store location in the continental U.S. in Salt Lake City in May of 1995. Our next location was opened in beautiful Park City, Utah in July of that year, and we’ve never looked back. We are continuing to grow and show rapid expansion for the near future, with numerous shops opening in Hawaii, throughout the continental United States, Canada and internationally. We also have a strong web presence here at our newly renovated corporate website, which offers updates on product information, online catalog purchasing, links to our current store locations as well as detailed information on franchising.
